Question about PAYE credits

    Hi everyone,

    I'm struggling explaining a PAYE credit number for a test exam - wondering in someone here could shed some light on this for me.

    The question is listed here on page 6 and then answered on page 14

    I'm just trying to figure out how they got to the number 892 for Ciaran
    does anyone know? help would be greatly appreciated, been stuck on this for hours...

    Its to do with his schedule E income less the pension at 20%

    4960-500*20% = 892

    This is all he is entitled to due to his income to get the full 1830 TC he would have had to earn 9150 after pension and 9650 including pension.
