Intel told me they would hire me with a level 7, though how good the jobs are I can't say. I'll be going for a level 8 anyway, the level 7 isn't really worth much nowadays without experience, nor is a level 8 for that matter :P

I tried that a few years ago and found it very difficult to get technical work. Spent a few years as an operator begot going back and doing amt for the hons. Got work straight away with the lvl8 but that said, I was able to parlay industrial experience from working too. Basically the lvl 8 is a big difference though.

if I were you I'd apply to a lot of jobs and if offered one take it. But I'd also plan to go back to college if work didn't appear over the summer

I have a level 7 in electronics and I've just started looking for jobs. Targeting the usual suspects, Intel, Analog Devices ect and I'm looking at jobs websites.

I had a phone interview last week and the interviewer asked was I continuing to do the level 8. I told him that I'd do it part time if I got a job and he seemed satisfied with that.

I'll ask him about training or assistance to become a chartered engineer at the formal interview. Suppose it's good to show initiative and a willingness to get beyond the Level 7.
