MS and Driver's Licensing

Hi all! l! Can anyone tell me, I know you have to notify the driving licencing authority about having MS, even if it doesn't impact your ability to drive, but is there anything on your driver's licence that would then alert anyone to that fact? I'll have to show my employer my driving licence, but wouldn't want them to know about the MS. Also, what information do you have to give them? I'm a little worried about the fact I was diagnosed 3 years ago but never mentioned it for insurance or my driver's licence before now........... in case anyone wants to judge me for that I'll just say I was in deep denial about the whole thing, and for the past three years never visited a doctor, counsellor, went on treatment, joined the MS society, nothing. But I'm over it.

Sorry to hear you have MS. Nothing on driving licence. My mother has MS, has to get cert from doc at renewal time, but thats it. Also tell your insurance company , my mother is with Eagle Star and her policy is under 300, granted she has MS for about 18 years. Also I know you don't want to, but I'd still tell your HR dept, in case you have an accident at work, if you don't disclose pre existing medical condition, they can refuse to cover sick pay if it ever arises. Good luck.

Get a letter from your neuro to say you are medically fit to drive and send it to the insurance company asap.
