Apple Airport Express

Have a mate with a iPad mini who can't print from his non-Wifi printer. I came across the Airport Express which is primarily designed for plugging into speakers to play music wirelessly. I'm wondering would it also serve to make his printer wireless and connect with the iPad ? Or does it only transfer audio ?

You can use it for printing ok - just google - theres lots on it out there including some youtube stuff.
