Advice on upgrade

    My current box has a Powercolor HD5750 1GB GDDR5 graphics card on a Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 motherboard powered by a Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 550W in a
    Thermaltake V9 VJ40001W2 case.

I have 3 monitors but can only use two at the same time with this card.

I'm considering upgrading the graphics card to a Radeon 7950 both for using three monitors and doing some crypto currency mining. I don't game.

My monitors max res's are 1960x1080 (HDMI or DVI), 1600x900 (DVI) and 1280x1024 (DVI)

My concerns are whether my PSU has enough juice to power the card, and whether I can use it to drive my monitors. i think so, but just wondering if anyone sees any problems? Thanks in advance.

You can get cheaper cards that will handle 3 monitors. A 7950 seems a bit wasted if you aren't gaming.

There won't be any power issues anyway.

I'm also wondering will I need some display port adapter, I'm seeing mentions of passive and active ones when I google about it. Can I just use hdmi + 2 DVI outputs for my three monitors?

EDIT: looks like the 3rd monitor is required to use display port, if the first two don't
