I hadnt been here in years and recently went back so imagine my surprise at the investment.
Now they have opened the previously private walled gardens, built a proper posh visitor centre and a small indoor market with restaurants called the "village"

Anyway the walled gardens are amazing, lovely ponds and water features as well. Well worth a visit

All in all a great day out, castle, garden etc etc and you also have the great free park a few hundred yards away
Adults are 12 euro and kids 6.

It was taken over and is now managed by Shannon Hertiage.

Been there on many an occasion to have lunch with my missus.

Avoca Village Cafe is nice but can become too crowded at times (waiting 15 minutes just to be served)

Our daughter loves the playground,as it have one of the biggest outdoor slides I have seen anywhere in Leinster.
