What's really needed for a course?

I'm Just finishing transition year in a few days, finalizing my subject choice now, as of now I would be looking to do "BSC (HONS) IN PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE" in the W.I.T as it's close to where I live. I was planning on doing biology and chemistry but was told by an SNA (special needs assistant) who was supervising one of my free classes today that you need a second language to do any level 8 course, in any college. I was and am sure it only asks for:

    Leaving Cert
    2 subjects: HC3 or better
    4 subjects: OD3 or better

    Required Subjects
    English/Irish: OC3/HD3
    Mathematics: OD3/HD3

On the W.I.T website, but she seemed fairly certain that I was wrong, can anyone confirm to me that I won't need to do French, German, Spanish or a subject like that or direct me to someones email who can answer questions like these in the W.I.T where I could mail this question to them myself.

I'm not sure about the actual course I want to do yet but just used that one as an example, with that said it seems the majority of level 8 science courses have the same requirements.:)

    Thanks

I cannot speak for W.I.T. directly, but I do know that you can get into D.I.T. and Trinity with passing English and Irish as languages, so it is not true that you need another language to do a level 8. Although when they say you need a second language they might be including Irish.

Although that slash is ambiguous (is it English and Irish, English or Irish?) but you'll almost definitely be fine if you pass both of them without another language.

Either way i'll be doing higher in both and will be expecting to do well in both, so that's nothing to worry about.
