Bringing a poster tube on Aer Lingus??

I'm going to a conference next Saturday in London and will be bringing my poster with me, probably rolled up in one of those cardboard tubes.

The only other thing I will be carrying is a handbag as am only going for the day.

Am I right in thinking that Aer Lingus wont have a problem with the poster?

Won't be a problem if its not too large.

Aer Lingus allow a ladies handbag to be carried on board in addition to hand luggage.

Thing is that the poster is A1 which is 59.4cm x 84.1cm so rolled up in the tube it will be about 60-65cm high I'd imagine

Travelling on a Saturday you should be ok. Aer Lingus are pretty flexible when the flight isn't full. The only dimension that matter when it comes to a tube is the length and 65cm will be fine.

I brought an A0 tube to Vienna in April.

I asked the lady at the Aer Lingus checkin desk if it would be OK to bring on board with me. She immediately said it would be no problem without even having to think about it so I'm sure its a fairly common thing and you will not have any problem...

My husband does that all the time. He has one of those plastic carrier tubes with a shoulder strapnand has never had a problem with Aer Lingus.
