RAM Upgrade on HP Pavillion Desktop

    Hello All,

I would like to upgrade the RAM in my PC in the hope it will make it run a little bit better and slightly faster boot up.

I am not expecting a huge increase, but at the moment I have to carry on with what I have and hope to get a bit more time out of it!

The PC I have is HP Pavillion Desktop (T3245 uk Model),and the issue is, I dont know what RAM I should get to upgrade it.
It only has a capacity of 4GB (total) and has at the moment 2x 512MB sticks in it.
I wonder would having 4 x 1GB sticks make a huge difference to speed of loading etc or just an upgrade of an extra 2 x 512MB.

I dont use it for anything more than Internet,Movies,Music!

I would appreciate if someone could recommend suitable RAM upgrade.

Also it has a very small HDD (250GB) and this is almost always near being full, which must contribute towards to slow running.

I would like to upgrade the HDD too,so any options on that would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance:)

If its a 32 bit operating system the max ram it can use is 4gb. You have 4 dimm slots so you could buy 2 of these and keep your 2x512s giving you a total of 3 gbs.

Any opinions on a bigger HDD that would fit ?

Is there another drive bay inside the machine?Any 3.5 inch sata drive @7600rpm would do. have you thought about an external one though? Might be handier

I will check to see if i have another bay inside the case.
