What is the guidelines for ventilation in rooms that have had 80mm of Xtraterm insulated plasterboard applied?

Plan is to slab and skim all internal walls with the above, but I am getting conflicting information about if the rooms need to have ventilation holes drilled afterwards.

Its a 3 bed semi which will also be getting 150mm of Insulation between floor levels, and 80mm of Xtraterm foil back between floor joists at ground level.

Yes, you do need to ventilate...the more you insulate the more careful you need to be about ventilation.

Are there wall vents in the existing rooms?

No and that is the weird thing as i know a family member has in their house which is in the same estate.

The house was built 1980 and had some work done in 2001 (small extension, but some plaster work in all rooms) so i am wondering if the vents got blocked up then.

The house is built in solid block work.

There are plenty of 1980s housing with no wall vents etc, but i can say from experience some of these houses had windows with small vents that were always open . In alot of the ones i see its 2 or 3 small holes in the window frame drilled at a downward angle underneath the window.

Are there vents in the windows (trickle vents)?

If not, then essentially, you need a wall vent to every 'habitable' room (each bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining, etc.) and you should also consider having mechanical extract installed to the Bathroom, EnSuite (if one) and WC.

Gonnna get vents drilled in all rooms and have also prewired above shower for extractor.

    Thanks guys.

Oh what the min vent size I should be going for? Just so I have some info/knowledge before I get a contractor to do it ?

    OK.

7 Vents getting drilled tomorrow...gonna kick up a mess after my big post build clean up :(

But now I am worrying about wasting energy/heat after installed a 3 zone GFCH system and internally insulating all external walls.

I'd be more worried about ill health and mould issues as a result of not ventilating. ;)

The paradox is that the more you insulate, and make a house (or any building) air tight, the more careful you need to be about ensuring adequate ventilation.
