It refused to install. no specific error.

I had an issue with it recently but can't remember now what I did to resolve it. Think it was just something straightforward like a reboot.

Are you installing it as a clean copy or as an update. If it's an update then try uninstalling any current version first.

    What OS are you on?

    Hi all,

Called MS Support today, they were not much help.

Uninstalled and re installed, still the same, I may wait until my Backup DVD arrives in the post and install from that.

Windows 7 and its a clean new install not an update.

Word and Excel work, but the one I need the most Outlook does not load

We need more info to help you.

If Word and Excel work, the installation must have completed successfully.

Are you using the 32-bit version of Office 2013?
Have you previously had an existing Outlook profile on this machine?
Can you get Outlook to launch in safe mode? (Hold down the Control key while launching).
Have you tried clearing the Outlook profile? (In Start menu, type Outlook /cleanprofile and open Outlook using the link that appears)

    Greetings,

I have managed to get outlook to open in Safe mode, is there anything else that Ii can do while in safe mode to ensure that it opens under normal conditions

    Cheers

If it's opening in safe mode it's a promising start. I'd try creating a clean profile next and see if that works. If not, make a note of the error message (if one is shown) and check the Event Viewer (in Start, type "Event Viewer" and click on the icon that appears) under Application & Services Logs > Microsoft Office Alerts to look for any errors. Post the details here.

    Greetings

Checked the event viewer, no error reports other than it has logged that I use safe mode.

I can now only access outlook 2013 in safe mode, very annoying. I have still not received my DVD via post, perhaps an install from the DVD with solve the problem.

In your StartUp entries that load when you boot windows, do you have anything called AMD external Events Utility. I see a few people reporting that this has affected the Outlook 2013 program operating in Normal Mode. If you don't have that particular program starting at Boot, try disabling whatever programs are booting one by one until you find whether Outlook opens under normal circumstances.

Also as suggested it could be that the old profile is conflicting with it for whatever reason. Add-ins or the like could be problematic.

Profiles old or new.. Has the profile an effect on my PST from outlook 2010

Will a new profile draw down my emails from 2010
