The 1.6 auto is very slow, but it's comfortable and it's safe. Has he driven this car?

Cheers Anan, I was hoping you might be around! Going to test drive this afternoon. I'm aware of the lag in the 1.6 Auto but he's coming out of a 00 astra that he has owned from new. Slow, safe pilot. So no real concerns there. I'm sure it will prove quicker than that, with the added comfort. The Hiline has a nice level of trim also. Low mileage too is a nice bonus.

Out of interest, the reg is 07-D-73416. Possibly an import ? Not that this would concern me anyway.

It's got km clocks and an NCT due date in July, so I think it's probably an Irish car. I have heard stories of expensive problems with the electric handbrake, but on the other hand my sister in law got a 07 1.6 auto estate in late 2008, and it's been utterly reliable ever since. It does look well minded - sure see what you think when you drive it.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Will let you know at 4.30pm ;)

It does look like its been really well kept, so hopefully this will translate into a nice tight, solid car. Watch this space.

I've got an 07-D-72XXX outside registered in September 07.

Not sure why the NCT would be July though.

My SIL's is a 6 speed (non DSG) auto, although I think hers is from earlier in 07 than this one.

Friend of mine is looking for a passat. 07(ish). He drives a MAX of 4K per year. Looking for AUTO box. I came across this and was really just looking for opinions from the experienced folk around here. Cheers in advance.

It's the highline model so has all the 'Bells & Whistles'. As mentioned earlier check to see if there has been any problems with the electric handbrake and steering column. They are both common problems on the B6 passat.

That's the bit that gets me too. I thought that the NCT is from the date of registration ( or in the case of an import, from when it is registered in the country ). With the REG in the 70K bracket, surely it would have been late in the year

We had a 731XX vehicle that was delivered on the 2nd August 2007. Probably registered the end of July for monthly targets. A 734XX reg could have been the same day.

It looks like a DSG shifter, so could well be a very nice motor. Seats get a bit dirty if you aren't careful.

    .

Might explain it. When we bought ours it was heavily discounted due to some pre-registration mumbo-jumbo.

UPDATE: interior immaculate. Usual hi-line spec. FSH. A few dings (albeit minor) on the bodywork that would annoy me personally. Not cleaned. Boot full of crap. I was expecting "immaculate" :(

The potential buyer did like the drive though.
