What are the sort code and bank account number details that you need so you can pay lump sums into your mortgage a/c from time to time?

My mortgage is with Bank of Ireland. Thanks.

    Hi Mr Cumulonimbus.

    Thanks for getting in touch.

The account details required when making additional payments into a mortgage account are 99947703 and the sort code is 900033. Your mortgage account number will be used as the reference number.

Prior to making a lodgement to your mortgage account, please contact the Mortgage Advisor in your account holding branch or call The Customer Relationship Unit on 01 6113333 to ensure no penalties will be applied to the account when the funds are transferred.

Contact details for your account holding branch can be found here.

Hope this helps. If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

Thanks Laura. My mortgage is a tracker. It appears there would be no problem with lump sum payments for this type of mortgage.

    Hi Mr Cumulonimbus.

That is correct. There are no penalties applied to an account when making an out of course lodgement to a tracker mortgage.

When an additional payment is made into a mortgage account, by default, the monthly repayments will automatically be reduced.
If you would like to use these funds to reduce the maturity date of the account, please send a written request to The Customer Relationship Unit, New Century House, Mayor Street Lower, IFSC, Dublin 1.

If you are unsure and would like to discuss these options, please call The Customer Relationship Unit directly on 01 6113333 where a representative will be happy to assist you.

    Thanks for posting.
    Laura
