I'm looking for some lengths curved aluminium tubing with an internal diameter of 45mm.

The outer diameter and wall thickness isn't too important as long as its not paper thin.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Cheers,

    Murph

I'd say just bend it yourself. Buy some tubing, it's pretty cheap. Then fill it with fine table salt or sand and bend it to whatever shape you like

I've done that before with copper pipe but I don't think its possible with aluminium, especially that size.

I don't see why not. Especially if it didn't have to be thick walled.

if its too stiff you could use some ratchet straps to pull hard.

Is it a long section you need or just a foot or two?

I really can't see that working unless it's a very gentle curve.

Aluminium tubing is really only available in stock lengths from places like Amari. Usually there is a minimum purchase of €50 with these stockholders. All steel fabricator will have the tools to bend the tubing properly and they'd probably charge you €20 for doing it if it's not too complex. If you only need a small amount of tubing it is likely that a fabricator would have some in stock, but he mightn't have the exact dimension you require. 50mm outside diameter with a 2mm wall is fairly common (46mm internal) and it is often used for aerial poles.

I can get the tubing in the size I need from Miko Metals in Cork.

Any recommendations for someone in Cork to bend it?

These are on Meath, but send them a drawing and they may sort you out.
