I recently bouth a Nissan Almera 1.5 SXE 2006 hatchback, but I think there is a problem with the air-conditioning system in that it comes on intermittently by itself and there seems to be no way of switching it off, and I am concerned that this will waste fuel. Would anyone out there be able to offer an opnion on how to remedy this problem? thanks.

In order to fix your car issue you have to open the dashboard panel to check the problem with the switch or with the wiring. I will suggest you to go a garage and fix it up otherwise if you can change the switch so change it may be it will solve your problem.

Hi there Hiltan, thanks for your reply. But..the strange thing is....the air-conditioning has NOT come on by itself since I posted this query. I will keep in mind what you say about opening the dashboard and checking the switch/wiring if the problem starts again.
