Just out a new wireless card into my new build. ( http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?manufacturer=ASUSTEK&mancode=PCE-N15&productcode=ECE2263041)

The drivers installed fine and the PC notices that its there. But it wont seem to pick up a signal at all in the Asus Utility. I am on UPC and have been using the usb dongle until now. Do I need to uninstall the drivers for that first? That still works if I put it back in.

    Any ideas?

Are there any other drivers in device manager that need to be updated? Any yellow question marks? Network controller ok?
Have you tried just using windows to connect (i'm assuming its windows)
Uninstall the drivers then reboot the machine, let windows find the drivers by itself.
See how you get on from there

Did all that, still nothing. Windows installed the drivers. I even took card out and resat it.

Check it isn't turned off in the bios? Scratch that, if you see it in device manager its enabled.
Can you get your hands on another known good card to test?

When I trouble shoot it in windows, it says, there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless connection 8 adapter. Also should the lights be flashing on the back of the card, as they are not.

    I'm on Win 7 64-bit

    From the site I linked
"I encountered this problem when installing an Asus PCE-N15 on a Windows 8 machine. The card was working with the native Windows 8 drivers but the connection was constantly dropping out and the speed was rubbish. I followed your instructions and located a Windows 8 installer package for the RTL8192CE-VA4 chip on the Realtek site and it worked like a charm. The connection is now completely stable and the speed is back where it should be."

    Which is here

So you are. I was looking at your wireless 8 adapter oops.
You could still try though, I've gotten devices to work by using drivers from the "wrong" operating systems. You could also try the vista
    drivers if that doesn't work

Won't allow you to install it on Win7. Runny out of ideas here. Think it just just be the card?

I know you've reseated it, is there another pci e slot you could try on the board?

    No, just the one unfortunately.

Will probably start another thread for this, but now my UPC dongle won't work. None of the drivers I found online work. Need someone to make a .iso if the cd you get with it to reinstall it! Don't want to restore as I've installed a few things the last few days.

I'm running out of ideas myself, you said its a new build, do you have an old machine there? Lash the card into that, see if it works?

No old build anymore, typing this on my iPhone. Just want the UPC iso. Now so I can't get back online to RMD the card.
