Covering Skylight

    Hi,

I have a kids bedroom with two large skylight windows (like velux, but a different brand).
Both of these are quite high up as the house is 1 1/5 story dormer, so they cannot be reached by hand.

I am looking for ideas for covering these, curtains or shutters or similar. I did get a blind for a 3rd (identical) skylight in a different room, but it was quite expensive for just a plain cream blackout blind.

Any suggestions? It's a pretty long shot I know.

Solar powered blackout blinds perhaps.Available in many colours and patterns.:)

Fantastic bit of kit and does what it says on the tin.:D

Oh they are cool, I never new such a thing existed.

I should have mentioned I am doing this on a budget.

Thanks for posting that though, just for the cool factor. (yup, I'm a nerd for these things)

I bought one of these a few weeks back

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACKOUT-ROOF-ROLLER-BLINDS-FOR-EVERY-VELUX-WINDOW-MADE-IN-THE-UK-/261155925920?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Curtains_Blinds_Curtains_EH&var=&hash=item3cce1b2fa0

They are half the price of Velux own brand. But I fitted it in 5mins, and I'm useless at DIY!

Thinking of ordering another 2, very pleased with the quality.
