    Hi folks,

I searched this using boards but can't find specifically my car.
If you seen my past posts, I bought this car a few months ago but in that time, both of the front lights have gone, I pay like €10 each time I change one so I went onto one of those Chinese sites to buy a stack of them so I can just hand them to the car repair guy if they go again (Cheaper) but I dont have a clue what lights I am supposed to get.

    Can anyone kindly help me?
    I'll be very grateful.

Here is the page that I am looking at

    Thanks!

Which light are you replacing - parking light, dipped light or high beam light?

You can select your make and model here and it will tell you what bulbs are suitable for your car:

    Hi Bazz,

I just discovered that my side lights (As they are called in the manual) dont come on at all when I turn the dial once.
If I turn it again, only the left dipped light comes on but the high beam lights are both working when I pull the dial.
That means that I need 3 bulbs actually. Probably two different types.
I will probably buy the whiter than normal bulbs once I discover the type of bulbs I can buy.

    Thanks!

If you go for white LED side light bulbs then its best go for CAN Bus friendly LED's otherwise it will display a blown bulbs warning up on your instrument panel...At this stage i'd say your used to it..:D

I usually fit philips x-treme vision low beam bulbs as the light output is very good and they tend to last longer..:)

    Are they dear?
    Where did you get them?
How do I spot canbus friendly bulbs on that Chinese site.
Or will you tell me that I am wasting my time with that site?

I have no fault lights on the dash by the way, even though some lights clearly aren't working...

Coming back to this, I have looked through previous posts on the subjects of good headlights. Particularly comments from "nogoodnamesleft", "sean1141" and "damnlol" but I have only uncovered the fact that high white lights shouldn't be put into cars that use reflective lighting, which the C3 Picasso does.

Can anyone recommend bulbs that I could get for the dipped, side lights and full beams that will produce good white light?
I don't want those blue coloured lights, just good strong white lights better than the low yellowy lights in the car.

I don't want to buy stuff incorrectly that will blind other drivers or lights that are not going to give strong light. Would appreciate someone's advice who knows this area.

    Thanks a mill

If you've got a dodgy connection to the lights then your bulbs will wear out quicker. Could be the case.

Halfords do heavy duty bulbs. Worked a treat on my mothers car which had an appetite for headlight bulbs.

HID bulbs are the ones that aren't suitable, they're a different thing entirely and have ballasts etc.

Thanks Colm, so stay away from HID bulbs. Got it.

I have a C3 10 years, I have gone through at least 5 main bulbs on each side and 5 or 6 dips. Try mister auto . ie

I wouldn't put the extreme vision or any other "better light" bulb in if you are having problems with them blowing. The wires inside (can't spell the word) is thinner on these and the usually blow quicker than a standard bulb, granted the light is much better. Have a look at the Philips longlife bulb. Thicker wires (see above, having a dopey morning) and it does last longer. I presume you don't touch the glass on the bulb when fitting?

I didn't put them in myself oldmanmondeo, local garage guy does. If they are going to keep blowing due to the nature of the cars wiring, am I not better off to buy a box of them off the chinese sites? Like a box of H1 and a box of H7 bulbs?

No your better off finding why they keep blowing. For all you know it could be an issue that might burn your car out, as in set it on fire. Cheap bulbs don't last, they could be overheating and blowing. Try the Philips longer life or Osram version (if they do one). Most motor factors will do them or can get them. Spring / Summer is not the season for motor factors to be holding a range, but try micksgarage.ie, they stock them. If not showing on the web site put a request in for them, I know they can get them no problem.
