Help for Egypt!

    Hi I am thinking of going to Egypt for a week in February next, I want a relaxing break, lie out in the sun, drink cocktails and maybe head out that night, where would be the best resort to go to? We are two single girls in our 20's! Don't want a party/party/party but don't want to be board. Thanks ! Oh would do a bit of sightseeing too

    Not sure that Egypt will be the best destination for you being honest. As it's a Muslim country alcohol is available within resorts and in some touristy areas but it's not common. There are some disco bars around the red sea resort but they attract lots of local young men and I always felt uncomfortable there. You'll be able to lie out in your bikini within the resort but would need to cover up outside it. Lots of great sightseeing though.

    Why don't you try somewhere like the Canaries instead?

    Hmm, that's a problem alright. Not sure I know of other places with guaranteed sunshine at that time. Unless you want to go to Southern Hemisphere, of course! You can get really good all inclusive deals to the Carribean.

    Egypt is a fantastic destination but just doesn't seem suitable in this regard. Maybe Israel or Jordan would be better bets. Though if you're just going to stay within the resort and concentrate on your tan Egypt might be ok. I just think the nightlife that you're hoping for will be non-existant.

    Unless you're in a dedicated resort area like Sharm el-Sheikh, you'd have no business going to Egypt for that type of holiday and the earlier poster has already give you the female view of that type of place.

    I've only ever been to parts of Egypt along the Nile like Cairo, Luxor and Aswan and while Luxor would be a good spot to chill out beside the pool and you could drink cocktails all day long, there is no such thing as 'nightlife' along the lines you're thinking.
