Sounds like schmallensberg to me, we had a lamb the same way a few months back. I was going to put him down but he had died off himself after a few day, if it is he won't get better so fingers crossed its something else

sounds a bit like swayback, which is from a copper deficiency in mid pregnancy in ewes.

that's spot on..all power gone from back legs. i took him away from ewe so takes the bottle instead but everything else working grand.. I leave him in the yard during the day and she grazes away chewing the cud..sits like a dog...drags legs behind..she is probably around 25-30 kg

Seen two similar to that before, tick caused abscess on the spine. Bad news is neither survived. I'm not saying that's what's up with your lamb, but it sounds closest to what I've seen in my limited experience. Might be worth having the vet take a look if s/he is handy, seeing as the lamb is handy.

abscess in spine or some spine problem is what came to my mind when i saw it first alright...might give the vet a ring although sounds like a big ish job, hard to solve, if you know what i mean :eek::eek:

    eorna,

almost certain to be a spinal abscess. If it was swayback it would have an earlier onset and more would be affected. There is no cure for this condition. My advice would be to cut your losses on him and not let him suffer. Will develop sores from dragging legs behind .

I was more suggesting the vet to confirm or deny really, I fear the news won't be good. Just in the hope it's something else more than anything.
