Having to turn 3 modem off and on

Hi, my Three modem e586 has been acting up. It works fine ie loads a youtube video but usually when i click on another video its very slow so i restart and it works but then won't load the next video. It's like the restart fixes it only for maybe 5 minutes. What i was thinking is that once it's reconnected it gets higher priority from the server for a while, anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I've noticed exactly the same thing to a different degree so I suspect you are correct. If I have a very slow (congestion) no go 3 connection a quick reconnect will get a couple of pages loaded before it goes back to being too slow to even load a web page.

Not exactly related but may help.
I got a huawei 731 modem a few weeks ago & topped it up with €20, I'd never used these 3g modems before & I wasn't impressed, the connection was crap so I got a USB extension cable & pointed the modem in a different direction & then got 3-4 3G bars.

I thought the problem was sorted but every few hours, pages started hanging & not loading, a reboot, no change, it would just magically start working again when it felt like it. I tried it on XP & vista & it happened on both.
A few days ago I tried it on ubuntu & it's working fine since, once or twice it was trying to resolve hosts but got them without timing out.
It doesn't make much sense to me but appears to work better on linux.

Just started to get hit by this issue again. Its been happening on and off for the last week. Congestion seems to have got really bad and a restart of the modem (drop connection and reconnect) allows a page to load before the connection speed drops off to nothing. Speed still OK after about 3am in the morning for a few hours so 3 can't claim there is any issue with the mast other than too many users for the available capacity.

My 3 just disconnects for no reason !
Just started my new 18 month contract !!

Im nowhere near meath but i'm pretty sure they let you try out the modem for a week and you can bring it back if your not happy

3's service is a bit like the tide, sometimes its, in sometimes out and most of the time in between the two. From memory the end of May beginning of June is always the start of the summer slow down, another big week day hit occurs when the schools finish for the summer, current slow down might be leaving cert related. I don't really expect it to improve much until the schools go back in September.

When cells are near max capacity small changes in usage patterns seem to make massive changes to user experience and speeds. I've always maintained that my speeds relate very closely to near by school hours and break times. When there are school holidays the times when my connection is usable are different to when the kids are in school.

NO NO NO NO NO, please don't perpetuate that myth. 3 have a 14 Day Money Back Guarantee but its subject to 3's support in Mumbai saying that you have really bad speeds and they just about never do that. There's plenty of evidence of this if you search through the talk to 3 forum threads.

Correct no try vmbefite you buy with 3 !
Had it before its ok , it's mobile so you can't be dependant on it
