Are Western MotorPoint now Ramillies Motor Company?

I'm bored and did a little snooping on your behalf

Western motor point and Ramilles Motor Company are pretty much in the same area

Carzone won't throw anything up for Western motor point and information is very sketchy on Ramilles Motor co

However, checking all the cars on one site against the other, none match. I thought I had it with the Hyundai Santa Fe, both silver, both 07 but they're different vehicles

I'm only speculating but either they are:

• A subsidary or
• A rival co with a similar name in order to divert business away

Done a search on both names

None off them are limited companies but registered business names and registered to different people

Its definitely the same place anyway and the phone numbers for western motor point doesnt ring anymore.

It's not the same place. This is at the back/on the same grounds as walsh motors on the kylemore road. Western is just off the nangor road.

Thank you that would be really appreciated. I am in a seriously sticky situation if western are gone as i am in the process of bringing them to court :mad:

Western Motor Point aint a company so aint protected for limited liability, its a registered business name owned by a indivual so you can still go after the person in the courts even if he's gone out of business . if you are going after him your solictor should know this.

PHEW!Thanks ants09 my solicitor has just reiterated same. was having difficulty getting in contact with them and starting to panic!

Hi sunshine. I went and checked this out. Sign over premises on Kileen Rd (just off the nangor rd) has now changed to Ramilles Motor Company. Also went up to walsh motors, the site next to it is boarded up so not too sure whats going on there.

You were spot on Midlands M. I'd be interested to know exactly what happened to sunshine2013. I bought my car there and to be fair it's in excellent condition with a fsh, and was in my name in a week.

I know a few Dublin dealers well who have moved to carsireland from carzone, better price, good service is what i hear

Carzone have 257 Dublin dealers, carsireland have 212. Any idea how many cars carsireland have on their site?

i think they have around 650 or 660, slightly behind carzone who have over 700

Without going into too much detail. Bought a car off them in good faith as you do.. have had absolutely nothing but trouble with it so much so that it has been parked up for over 6 months as it is not safe to drive. They have not honoured our warranty and have not answered any correspondence. Unfortunately I have heard the same from two other parties. This is not including others who have had probs with log books and what not and no doubt others who I'm not aware of. It seems they have now done a vanishing act. I wonder why.

Well I havent commented on this since my thread was closed, I was told that I couldn't say anything bad about Western Motor Point on here as it could have left boards.ie open to libel issues.

I could see where boards.ie were coming from a little bit, HOWEVER, since then I've had 7 people on to me through PM about Western all whom had issues with Western.

That's all I'm saying on the matter but one thing for sure, it's definitely the same location.

Should be easy to find out if its the same crowd, is there a dope called Ger on the forecourt and Dave in the background somewhere, if so then its the same outfit! If not then I feel sorry for this garage as already it's legitimacy is being questioned because of the previous "garage" that operated from that location!
