Ok so got the card and handicap confirmation and everything so do I now need to register with GUI or will the club do that for me.

I tried registering for howdidido but am not listed on that under my club, does anyone know when I will be or how I get on it.

I cant see anywhere on the GUI website to sign in or register or anything like that.

Your club should give you login details into the GUI site

Chr*st, I only done the same a month so or ago but my memory is hazy so apologies if this is wrong.
For GUI/Golfnet your login and password is your GUI number for your first login, you can then amend password.

Re Howdidido: I think that took a week or so before I appeared on it.

All this happened only last month.... Memory is gone to fcuk

The default password on golfnet used to be "golfnet"

Give that a go to see it is still the same.

Could be worse, my uninventive parents gave me the same name as my Dad. I was living at home when I got my GUI card. The Da assumed it was his and set up a password on the account that I'm forever forgetting on Golfnet.

Not sure how to change it either?
