Temporary Hair Colour - Help Needed

Hey all. Looking for some quick advice here.

My hair is naturally dark brown, but I have it highlighted at the moment with various shades of blonde. I love it, however, it's been a while since I had it done and the inevitable dark roots are showing through. I can't afford to have my usual hairdresser come and sort it out for me (she's not expensive but I really just can't afford it at the moment :( )

Now my dilemma is I have an interview coming up and I obviously want/need to sort it out.

Can anyone recommend a colouring product I could buy (affordable of course :pac: ) just to see me through this interview??

    Thanks

If you're going to throw a box colour into it, I would recommend a semi that has no ammonia, such as casting creme, or that new olia hair colour.

However, I'm not sure if a box colour blonde would cover dark roots tbh.

Thanks LexieOnRale - Yeah an off the shelf box colour was what I was thinking off and I was thinking more of completely returning to a brown (to "cover up" the blondes) just for the time being. Would a dark colour work on the blonde bits do you think?

Personally if I was going from blonde to brown, I would get it professionally done as I think there needs to be a little red with the brown to stop your hair turning green.

You could experiment with batiste blonde dry shampoo, it toned down my friend's dark roots brilliantly and sort of blended with the highlights to make the roots much less noticeable, gives a rather nice matte effect that looks great with an updo, cheap as chips too!
I wouldn't chance a home colourant over the blonde, I did it a few years ago and the fade-out was woeful, tones that should never be seen on hair :O (no green though, thank god, just brassy, pewter tones, awful)

    Thanks for that dee_mc.

I took the plunge and got the Olia in Mahogany, and it's worked a treat. You can see a tiny tiny difference in colour at the roots from where the blondes were but only if you look quite closely (I doubt my interviewer will want to look that close at me - well I hope not anyway :D ).

I have to say as nice as the colour has turned out - I do miss my blondie bits though and after the interview it's straight back to my pal the hairdresser :pac: .

Thanks all for your advice - greatly appreciated.
