S60 or S80?

I'm in the market for a second hard car, upgrading from a 2005 Peugeot 206 1.4D. I'm interested in either a Volvo S60 or an S80, both have very nice interior and exteriors, and I've read good reviews on here and elsewhere but really can't differentiate much between the two.

    My criteria/requirements are:

    Year: 2008 onwards
    Price: €12k
    Fuel: Diesel
    Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: Less than 10k per year
Family: Two kids (although we have a zafira for their day to day transport)

Go for the D5 for fuel efficiency. S80 is quite a bit larger than the S60 but you get used to it (at least for me s80 felt huge when I was driving it a while back).
I'd go with the s80 if I was hauling kids around but even then the s60 is plenty.

Personally I love big cars so I vote S80. Have no personal experience of them but my brother in law and his father both have S60s and no complaints to report.

With that mileage you'd be better with petrol. And I'd go for the s80.

Actually the new S60 is not a whole lot smaller than the current S80. The new S60 is actually roomier than a 3 Series or A4 while the S80 is smaller than the 5 Series or E Class that it was aimed at. I reckon when Volvo replace the current S80 the next one will be a lot larger.
