Happened out of the blue today, its an SX Strat and its a year old, no sound comes out of the amp and when I plug it into the tuner it doesn't detect a signal either, I've checked all the connections inside the guitar and nothing appears to be wrong.

    Any ideas?

Does the cable work? When the amp is on, take it out and do you here a loud buzzing from the cable, which will change when you touch it with your hand.

Yeah tried that and they're both fine (should be since I only got it a few weeks ago!), so I know its definitely the guitar...nothing has happened to it since the last time I used it, hasn't been moved or anything..

Could be a lot of different things. I would check the input jack on the guitar, make sure all the cables are connected. Then check the volume pot and see if its connected. It's a tough one to diagnose on the internet:p

It all *seems* fine from initial inspection earlier, perhaps the best thing to do is bring it into someone, thanks anyway :P

Could be the wiring, leads, or the amp. Or what happened to me once, I was half asleep one day and plugged my guitar into the headphone jack and couldn't figure out what was wrong... One of my lesser moments...

Sorry for not replying until now, as much as I wish all your easy suggestions worked sadly there's nothing. :( I'm going to have to take it in somewhere to have a look.
