We have a fiat ducato camper van. The kids (bless 'em) lost the only keys we have.

The guy at FIAT Sligo says its going to cost over €750! because they cannot get the key from the chassis number, so we need new keys, barrels, ecu, the lot!

Any suggestions? We can't drive the van :-(

FIAT used to supply a user keys and a master key.
You need the master key to program a spare key for the immobiliser.

    It gets tricky otherwise.

Ah good, I take it pre facelift so! 2.8idTD?

I have a rather unorthodox but cheap solution, you can bypass the immobiliser :)

Sounds cheaper than 750 squids! Tell me more.

After five days searching, I found the keys in my neighbour's back garden. Five days rooting in thorn bushes and ditches, searching, and St Anthony gets all the credit!

Anyway, no need for any serious mechanical intervention. Thanks for your help all the same.

    All the best
