l am currently working part time, Fri to Sun. l'm looking to get a 2nd job, & atm l have a good chance of getting one (its full time). My problem is, should l tell my current boss l am going for a 2nd job & ask her for a referrence? She has told me il get more working hours but not til June/July...where as l need as much hours as possible now. Also my current job is summer work, so don't know if il even be kept on after this season is over.

l need to put on my cv what work lm doing atm, but don't know should l ask my boss for a reference? or should l just put down the work lm doing atm?

Most places would not expect a job reference from your current job. If it is your first job they therefore don't expect a reference. Just explain that and I doubt they will expect one.

Just the work you are doing should be enough

I think it would depend on how long you've been working in your current role, and how different it is to your previous role. I'm in my current job for 5.5 years, and in a very different job to my last one, so I'd expect to be asked for a reference from where I am now.

I'd either ask someone at my manager's level, or roll the dice and resign based on the provisional offer, and ask him to give a reference then.

That might not apply to the OP though.

l only started my current job 2 weeks ago only part time. I think I'll just put down the work I'm doing there atm, tbh I don't want to tell my boss I'm looking for a 2nd job, wouldn't look too good
