So, in the last 24 hours:

Chris Doyle is leaving 98 in June and Claire Duignan is leaving RTE.

Who is going where next? How safe do their respective appointees feel now??

    Keep the heads down lads!!!

Will they drop that awful Ryan Seacrest show soon now? I can't see the appeal of it.

The appeal to them is its costing them nothing which is ideal when they have so many 'ad free' hours during peak times.

Is it free? I thought they'd have to pay for it, suppose if it's free it makes a little sense, can't see the show retaining listeners from Dermot and Dave into the next show.

Yeah its a free syndication, Seacrest's company farms it out all around the world to maximise his brand, it wouldnt take very much to put it together, its not exactly highbrow radio, its just a few showbizz-centric generic links, not sure if the music is included in the upload, if not, then it invloves even less work to put together for his production team.

I would've thought with you knowing so many people in the industry, you would have been all over this news which is old by now. It was announced yesterday.

    You mean 2?

2 hours a day during Barry Dunnes show ,which is peak time just after brekkie , equates to ten hours a week, it was the 'ten hours' i was referring to really. Mind you I recall a few months ago barry Dunnes entire show was ad free for several weeks, thast 25 hours a week, so perhaps things are improving for them.

No need to be like that, I don't know everybody in the business and can't know everything that's going on. Where was it announced?

I remember the thread, but Ive never heard of 98FM playing 5 hours of non stop music. I didnt agree with it at the time, and I dont agree with it now. But hey, they must be doing something right if they can convince you that they are play 5 hours of uninterupted music during the day. Well done 98FM!!!!

I remember sitting listening to 5 hours ad free, i thought it was so unusual I posted on here about it, they only did it for several weeks but they definitely had 5 hours ad free between 10 and 3.
