Where's the cheapest place in Cork for gran lime? Dairygold are charging €9.50 for a small bag but I've heard €7/bag is the more normal price.

I'm not in Cork but I paid either 9.25 or 9.50, but just bought six for a small job.

Small bags can be expensive. Usually get it delivered with Fertlizer find Dairygold best last year to secure fertlizer he left Granlime out at 130/ton bulk. Got a good price for fertlizer this year so it went out at 140/ton no bargining this year as prices were going up the end of the week this was start of March. There is a saving in buying it in big bags if you can handle remember when spreading because it is finer than even 10-10-20 it goes out of spreader fast so allow in adjustmment.

    Glanbia, Glenville 170/ tonne. €8.50 50kg bag
Mc Donnell bros Fermoy 180/tonne. €9 50kg bag

Both do it in the 50kg bags

Does it come as 1 or 2 tons on the pallet? My supplier doesn't like fertiliser to be ordered where he has to break up a pallet and you end up waiting longer.

Try around for 2 ton you should be able to get out of a co-op at 150/ton cash collected in bulk if not try a few farmers that are buying a bit of fertilizer they be able to get a couple ton delivered to there yard at that or less with fertilizer and you collect it there.

Ah ha, I see now said the blind man, that's a whole different question!

Ground lime is by far the better value if looking at mass spreading. As an experiment I'm looking at using a handful of bags, maybe 10max, mixed with CAN as cows are moved from paddocks. These are soft paddocks with peat ground and therefore acidic soil.

I have about an acre to do peat ground as well . was thinking 3-4 bags/acre
