Another remake of a 60s/70s drama?!?

Blair Underwood is a good actor, but I don't think he'll perfectly fill Raymond Burr's shoes... or should that be his wheelchair? :o:o:D

Found it to be pretty good. It's also nice the way they also showed
the dudes sidestory of his wheels
during it as well and not
drag it out like a few other shows tend to do
    .

it also justifies why they need an actor who can walk, flashbacks

I watched it last week and while I didn't hate it, it isn't exactly a show I'd go out of my way to follow. It just felt so generic and cliched that you imagine it was written by writers working directly out of the Writing Procedural TV Crime Drama 101. There wasn't a single original moment or idea and for a man in a wheelchair Itonside spends a lot if time in places not readily accessible to those without working legs

Well, now that you mentioned it, yeah. Esp the roof. But meh, after watching Horatio Caine in CSI: Miami, I'm a little more forgiving with such plot holes :pac:

I just kept thinking "how the hell did he get up there" every-time he was on a roof or area not easily accessible to wheelchair users. Though that said if they can make the writing and cases of the week a little more fun and a little less procedural then it's one of those things I'll easily forgive.

For a fun show, check out Brooklyn Nine-Nine; it's a lot more easy going, and a good laugh :D

Way ahead of you. Watched the pilot a few days back and really liked it. Has so much potential that either it'll be a smash hit or sink without trace

Watching the second episode and really warming to the show. It's not the least bit original and is far too busy for its own good but its all really well done and the story is interesting. It's not a show I'd miss if cancelled but will happily give it a couple of weeks to settle into its groove as im there's a lot if potential here. It's also a pleasant change of pace to have a serial killer storyline that's not solely concerned with gruesome imagery and a generic connect the dots plot.

    Cancelled already, eh?

That's what happens when you take a cult series and turn it into something very generic.

It's happened before - with Charlie's Angels - and more than likely it'll happen again. After all, the Obsession With Remakes won't dissipate for a while yet...

Getting back to Ironside, the first episode was watched by only 6.8 million viewers, and its Nielsen rating was 1.3/4 - the lowest for an NBC fall drama premiere ever.

    http://www.tvrage.com/news/8144/primetime-ratings-wednesday-10-2-13

Viewing figures plunged to 5.2 million for the second episode, only good enough for a 1.1/3 rating.

And when those numbers fell again to 4.8 million and a 1.0/3 for the third episode, the folks at TVRage probably weren't the only ones thinking that the show was now on life support...

I loved Ironside, He was watched religiously in our house. My Mam almost had a heart attack when she saw him in a further role walking, she was shouting "Ironside can walk", My Dad, God rest him, laughed so much he nearly cried............

    True story......:):):)
