What would be the expected the cost for a complete new Gas central heating system to be installed into a three bed semi detached house. Would expect around 8 radiators being required.

Secondly is it worth getting a stove installed with a back boiler if your getting a new gas central system in?

Don't know much about the subject.. I have seen a quote of €5,000 online for different installers for the rads with a new boiler & heating controls. Would this be accurate or could you get it done for less?

Any advice would be great :-)

What is there currently? how old is the existing system? It depends on how significant the installation is - ie, can the existing pipewoork be used going to the existing rads, what size the existing pipework is if the its an old house, and what way the pipework is installed (an old house may have a loop, where the exit of one rad feeds the inlet of a next rad and so on- but it would be a very old house to have that). Do the Rads actually need to be changed? how old are they? What is the actual driver behind changing the system? Is it just the boiler that needs replacing along with some heating controls upgrading - i.e.- zoned control, thermostatic valves, etc..
Do you want to run showers off the new system? What type of showers are currently in the house? What size cylinder is in the house? do you plan to fit solar panels at any point?

As you can see there is quiet a bit to consider. I have a stove fitted in my house without a back boiler and i am sorry i didnt fit a back boiler. There is a bit to consider regarding a stove also - Cost of fuel to run it - it cost a bit to feed them with fuel. Will you actually go to the hassel of cleaning it out regularly and lighting it on a daily basis? Is there sgoing to be someone in the house daily to get the benefit of the stove?

These are all things i have had to consider over the past 10 years, but i have no idea of costs associated, but you will need to be clear on all item before looking for quoatations. Hope this helps!

I got a new system put in last August which consisted of a new 3 zone

system with controls,8 new rads and a Viessmann boiler for just over 5K

and I got the grant for the boiler too. Most of the quotes I got were around

    that figure.

There is no heating system or radiators in place currently.. So my thinking is a new modern gas central heating system and possibly a back boiler inset stove.

So I'm guessing it would be 5-6k then for all that?

Is this a new build. What does BER require?

It's a 1969 build with probably a zero BER rating with no insulation.

What did you go with Cigire? We're looking at this job so would be interested in hearing how you got on.

Currently getting quotes of between 6k and 8k for new system inclusive of combi boiler. Reckon I'm going to get dry lining in first before the central heating.
