I'm thinking of buying a Focus Cayo Evo 6. My intention is to use it for sportif
events and long runs at the weekends. Is anyone familiar with the Focus.

Had one. A Cayo. Loved it.

The one complaint that I had was it was a little stiff at the rear, but I see that the seat stays are much narrower on the Evo 6 and slightly curved also so that should help a lot.

    Looks good.

Thanks for that. I looking at one that's almost new for €1400. really like the look of this bike especially with the cables the way they're
routed through the frame. Would you say the one you had was comfortable on long rides, 100k +?

    It was OK comfort wise,

But Like I said, they have changed the design since I had mine. Seat stays are much narrower and curved now, so I'd say it would be fine.

Look at the size of the seat stays on my old baby, like tree trunks. That design has changed substantially. .... Great bike though, and I'd have one again in a heartbeat.

I have the very same as on the photo above. And I would like a new one i.e. Izalco pro. Cant say rear was stiff for me. Maybe i had some extra padding in my bibs...? :D

My only grief about focus is that ever since Katusha used their bikes in TdF they decided to act like other big boys on the market. So no focus on wiggle anymore. And when i asked them where u can get new ficus in ireland they sent me to their diler finder and that showed some crap website with crap selection and no focus bikes on it at all.

I think cycle superstore have some selection now. And there is one cayo on adverts for sale with ultegra di2 for some sickening price ;)

I would go with focus dven with changed geometry.

Btw do they make their frames in germany?

Do you know what exact type of headset it is?

So any type of fsa orbit will fit. I should specify that im looking to replace/upgrade and im not sure what to look for on wiggle and crc.

Well Id like to do it myself if at all possible. Whats the best way to determin what will fit, measure the cups pressed in the headtube, after their successful removal ?

I had to change the headset bearings (those are the bits that wear down, the top cap, spacer cap etc are probably fine) on my Focus Cayo bought in 2010. It had a 1 1/8 top and 1 1/4 bottom bearing internal diameter. Be very careful as FSA make about 30 different Orbit sets! There is a thread here that will help:
