Renewing Learners Permit by post

    Just a quick question but can you do this? I can't see any info on the rsa site that goes into detail about renewing by post.

    Just post to your local Motor Tax office

    I emailed the Motor tax office and they said by post it could take upto 5 weeks for the license to be issued.

    Will it be quicker if I apply in person?

    Probably not as the new liceneses are the credit card tyoe, the RSA have sub-contracted these out to a company in Holland i think so going along in person won't make any difference, I got my new licenese a couple of months ago and it took about 5-6 weeks to get

    Depends what area you are in. Louth is particularly slow, they are actually closing the office to the public a number of daysto catch up.
    Read posts from other areas where it's much quicker.
