Meg Jay: Why 30 is not the new 20

Just thought I'd share this for all the 20-something year olds.

It's a talk by Meg Jay for TED and although not directly related to anything LGBT, I think many young LGBT people will take a lot from this.

Have a watch and see what you think. :)

I think she has a big point there that most young people in their 20s fail to see. As she said life does not magically begin at 30, it is by a definition an extension of your 20's ideology, yes 20's can be fun, but living a life without a clear purpose or reason in your 20's is a recipe for a disaster.
Listen to her words carefully, she has incredibly good points for all 20 something who still struggle to find their place or purpose in life.

Thanks for the link. Very powerful and logical ideas there. Ones that I very much support.I remember a counsellor in college telling me that 'life is a working progress' (having had a similar identity crisis like one of the girls there). It's very easy to be influenced by external factors and not do what you've always wanted to do. I think the essential message is that we cannot always control the world, but we can assert control over our lives through our judgements and what we want from life. It's quite easy to think that the world dictates and puts us in a neat box that is called 'your life'
