When i signed up for UPC TV/Broadband/Phone bundle they connected my phone to their modem with the result that my phone connection sockets upstairs and in the kitchen were made redundant. It is a small problem, now i have just one phone which operates near the TV.
Would a Wireless Phone Line Extender help me in reactivating my phones elsewhere in the house.

You can pick up wireless dect phones which only require base station. These allow multiple hand sets

+1 they have a selection in PC World with one or two handsets last time I was there or search for 'dect cordless phone' on amazon.co.uk and you'll find some there with up to 4 handsets.

You can just connect the phone line from the UPC box back into your existing sockets if you want .. Just a matter of running a cable from the upc box and connecting back into your phone sockets ...

    Thank you for replies.
I have ONE FOR ALL Wireless Phone line extender kit (still in box) . Would these plugs do the job. I am a slow learner when it comes to any electrical work.

Yes they will do the job but you don't need kit like that, it is designed to provide a phone network through a domestic power circuit where there is no existing phone wiring. There are equivalent plugs to provide a home Ethernet (LAN) network.

You already have phone points connected up so using that kit would just use up power sockets for no gain. Plug the UPC phone socket into the phone point in the wall and you'll activate the other points in the house but you'd really be better off buying a multi-handset cordless phone kit which by the way will cost less than that kit.

I can see that All in One kit on the DID website, did you buy it from them? If you did, I'd bring it back with the receipt and ask if they'll allow you to swap it for a cordless kit instead.

Hi, I am successfully using the one for all extender with UPC telephone. Could not connect directly to old eircom port as previous posters indicate as the UPC modem is situated in a different room. Multi DECT handsets in use also downstairs so the best of both worlds :)

    Thanks for info.
No, the extender Kit was not purchased in DID, I think it was in Maplims, but that was over five years back so its past its sell by date so returning it is out of the question. Anyway, i did not purchase it, it was someone else.
Anyway i will find some use for it.
    thanks.

Why not just buy a few dect phones like this one :

You just plug the main base station handset into the UPC phone line. The other 2 handsets then just work over wireless from first unit ..

The UPC phone service is analog.

DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) refers to the communication between a cordless base station and the handset, it has nothing to do with UPC. The phone wire between the cordless base station and the UPC box carries an analog signal.

I have an old 1989 Eircom 'Aisling' analog phone and a Sagem DECT cordless phone, both of them work off the UPC phone line.
