Bike security question

Hey folks, a quick query on bike security that I was hoping you folks could assist with.

So I went to the underground garage of my apartment block this morning to get my bike for my cycle to work, only to discover someone had attempted to steal it at some-point over the weekend.

Now I was running late as it was so didn't stop to do a full inspection, I just had a quick look to make sure that it was still secure.

I have an Abus U lock running through the rear wheel and the 'triangle' of the frame. The would be thieves, and confirmed ar$eholes, had attempted to take off the rear wheel in order to steal the whole thing, but luckily the lock did its job. Not sure if there is damage to the rim, will check that this evening.

From the very quick inspection I gave the lock, the damage SEEMED to be mainly superficial i.e. the plastic coating of the lock is torn, but the metal underneath seem ok.

My question is, should I look at replacing the lock? Does the fact that it has clearly already been tampered with, make it a more / less likely target for future thefts
