    HI All,

Heading to Miami in July and was wondering where is the best to stay. Looking for a decent hotel with a nice pool really. Also any good activities to do? Was in Orlando before and did most of the attractions there so was wondering of there is anything interesting or entertaining in the south of the state?

    Thanks in advance

no question the best place to stay in miami is southbeach, its also the most expensive area of town to stay however

miami is a completely different experience to orlando, the main attractions in miami are good food, high end shopping, nightlife and the beach which runs for about 10 miles unbroken

multiple tours companies runs daily trips to the everglades, these guys are really good http://secure.miamibeach411.com/everglades-tour.html

bayside http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/ is a fun area day or night in downtown miami, there you can take cruises or more high octane experience http://www.thrillermiami.com/

we stayed at South Seas Hotel on South Beach. It's by no means fancy and the rooms are a bit old and basic but the pool area was fantastic and there were some hammocks under palm trees and it came out directly onto the beach through the back. There are lots of hotels either side of it with higher stars and costing more. I'm sure you can find something in that area to suits your budget and needs.
When we went visiting family closer to town we stayed at the Doubletree which was great value for money. The rooms are big new and comfortable.
