This has been discussed in another thread already,Sky 3d is available to anybody who has a HD sub (tv has to be 3d of course). The content you can watch is linked to your sub,you need a minimum sub of Entertainment Extra.

Yep, I got the e-mail too and activated it.

    Its incredible!

Funny thing is it took a couple of days to display after I activated it. In that time I e-mailed Sky to see what I was doing wrong.

They e-mailed me back telling me as I dont subscribe to the movies I wasn't entitled to it. Despite the fact they e-mailed me notifying me as a Sky+HD customer, I did qualify.

Anyway, despite their gaff, its up and running and it really is impressive.

The only downside is there are a lot of movies on it, and if you havent subscribed to the movie channels you cant view them.

Watched David Attenborough at the Galapacos Islands last night, amazing.

Couldn't activate it online for some reason. Rang the number on the 3D channel screen and got the service almost immediately. It's pretty good.

Does this enter you into a new contract

At first the lady I was talking with said 'yes', but then she went off, had a chat with someone, came back and said 'no'. So I'm taking it that I haven't had to enter into a new contract. She just said that the new service was 'free'.

It doesn't enter you into a new contract, but I'm keeping an eye on my account to make sure my bill hasn't increased.

    Hi all,

just read through the thread. Is channel 170 the only Sky 3D Channel e.g. if a match is advertised as being in 3D will that match be on channel 170?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,064 ✭✭✭poundhound

Yes, 170 is the designated 3D channel.

Any footie advertised as being shown in 3D shows on this channel.
