I haven't been to War since the days when it was held in Spy. Always had a great night there but I don't really rate Alt that much as a venue. Has anyone been to War recently? Any good?

A group of us are supposed to be going Friday week (the 24th) but might suggest somewhere different if it's not meant to be a great night.

WAR moved to Button Factory for a few months but has just returned to ALT recently. I haven't been since, but ALT went through a significant and required renovation not so long ago, including repurposing the cavernous cloakroom into a second bar and dancefloor with a different DJ. I'm hopeful they gave the place a good clean during the renovations too.

I went recently enough and it was okay! Not the best of nights in my opinion but i'd go again as it could just have been an off night. They have a stage in the middle of the dancefloor which was kind of annoying as the place is small enough without people falling off an overcrowded stage on top of you! :P

I was there recently enough, and not a big fan of it tbh. Overcrowded and kinda shabby.

The venue sucks but I don't even care about the venue it's more just the crowd that go there to be honest :/ Although I'm sure all of you are of course lovely ;) But I found that there were so many rude people  It's not as friendly and easy going as The George I find...everyone has such an attitude. I sound like an aul one and I'm only 21 but I would prefer an older crowd in The George or Dragon anyday if this is what the young kids of today are like :pac:

Maybe I was just unlucky - I've only been there 3 times, but every time not so good a night!

I still think it's a fun night, but definitely nowhere near as good as it was in the Button Factory. No idea what it is about Alt that people love so much, it's like being in an oven. :/

The best thing about Alt/War is the music they play is generally good for an auld cheesy bob.....and I love my cheesy dancing.

It's a bit too packed sometimes, and the venue is pants in that it is in dire need of a feckin' lick o' paint, etc but I've been worse places....I prefer it over the Button Factory actually...

Now back to my Daft Punk obsession....

Thanks guys. So not many fans it seems. Well we're starting things off in Pygmalion. From the sounds of it we're better off just staying there for the night.

I get real mixed up bout whats in where these days..

FAG on a friday is gone from ALT, yeah? Tried to go a few weeks back and the place was all closed up..
Is War in ALT on a friday now instead?
What goes on in the button factory these days?

What kinda age group goes to war? think I heard it was very young crowd when it was on in Button Factory.
