    Hi

Getting married in August in Co Sligo and i am struggling to find someone to sing/play music in church. I don't want real Soprano style, just nice singing & music. Its a bonus if singer plays the harp but guitar etc will do great otherwise.

I have tried Sinead Conway & Brenda Grealis, they are booked out.

    Please help me???

Try www.churchmusic.ie in the "Groups 1 Voice" and Singers sections, you can see what county they're based in and where they travel to.

I did try churchmusic.ie there wasn't much for that area, & the ones that got back to me were booked or far too expensive

    You could try Ailie Blunnie.

Was at a wedding in Leitrim a while back and herself and her sister were singing at it and were good.

Hi there, we had a lady called fionnuala monks sing for our church ceremony. She also played the harp. She was so good we asked her to come to the venue and continue to play her harp for us there aswell. She is based in Dublin but doesn't mind travelling as our church was rosses point in Sligo and then venue in kilronan castle in ballyfarnon. She was just beautiful. Pm me of you would like me to give you her details or you can just goggle her :-).

I have been doing quite a bit of research on wedding singers for my own day. I have no idea how much any of them cost or how far they will travel - most based in Munster area but most say they travel. I think Gemma Sugrue from corks sounds amazing - love her voice. wish she was available on my day . Caroline Fraher is fabulous also. then theres Sarah O'Kennedy in Limerick - church singer of the year . I also tried Ruth Cahill, Laoise O'Hanlon. none available on my day but I recommend googling and having a listen to them.

I came across a group of girls from Dromore West called Della Rose at a wedding fair in Hotel Ballina a couple of months ago, they don't seem to have a website but they have a number and email address on their flyer, let me know if u want it. They were handing out cds with a couple of instrumentals and just one song, but going on that the singer has a lovely voice. they also play harp, guitar, flute, piano, tin whistle and concertina :) I came on here to see if anyone had mentioned or recommended them - no luck but I think I'll email and check their availability anyway

    Hi folks,
Just wondering has anyone amazing come to light since this conversation or are there any more recommendations.
We are getting married in Strandhill Church in October and are looking for someone for the church - preferably relatively casual/modern/something different!
    Thanks a mill

Aoife Anderson from collooney might be worth a look. While she is soprano you don't have to pick those styles of songs. Google her and there's a link to her webpage on her page. Check out the brennan sisters from galway also.
