Evening all. I am about to fit some white oak skirting in the coming weeks and would like some recommendations on gear needed to screw fix the skirting the blockwork walls.
I already have a 10mm plug cutter. However I do not have a pillar drill just a hand drill. Is a pillar drill really needed?
Any recomendations on counter sunk drill bits/packs? I assume stainless steel screws would be used about 5mm x 50mm +\- to fix. Have sds for drill blockwork.

    Thanks in advance.

this stuff should do the job without needing screws http://bostik.ie/index.php/diy/product/evo-stik/Gripfill/141

/edit - realized its solid wood, maybe this stuff wont work?

As James says, use adhesive. Much easier, and a neater finish, with no screw heads exposed.

Forgot to mention that i would prefer not to stick to the wall. I would like to be able to remove the skirting years down the line without damaging it due to adhesive etc.

Screws head would be covered with plugs.

Anyone use this method? What countersunk drill bits did you use?

    thanks in advance.

Use a flat bit to counterbore the skirting and you will be grand

If you buy a 10mm brad point drill bit. You will need a pillar drill to use the plug cutter bit safely.
