+1 the lads in On Track are dead sound and great help. If you drop in, buy an Ass-saver, little foldable mudguard, dead handy for the irish weather.

They're just No Logo wheels, they go for around 90 a set on eBay. Heavy and not that durable. As for painting the frame, just strip it back, and make sure to keep the coats you spray nice and even. Do a couple of coats, wet sand in between each one. Make sure you get your chain line straight, as has been said. And if you plan on riding brakeless, which I don't recommend to someone new to fixed gear, get some decent foot retention, like cages and straps or BMX pedals with freestyle pedals which I prefer. I'd probably get straps even with a front brake to be honest.

Just take your time with the build, don't be afraid to post on here or ask your local bike shop of you're stuck or need a hand. And most of all, enjoy the ride when you're finished.

    I built a singlespeed/fixie a few months ago....

I used a Stronglight Track 2000 chainset from planet-x with a matching bottom bracket, gave a perfect chainline with the halo aerorage rear wheel that I got from chain reaction cycles....an absolutely bombproof wheel!

I took a trip into town today and went into on track a set of wheels for 200 but that's without the cogs and tyres and such. I don't think the prize is to bad but I have never bought anything fixie related before what do you guys think?
