I have mazda 6 for sale, and 2 months ago I received following email:

    Alex Daniel <alexdaniel682@ymail.com>
    7.03

    do mnie
Thanks for your quick response,Ok just wanted to make sure nothing is been left out. i was introduced to this site by a friend at work. I am well satisfied with the description on your ad,I will be buying this for the price you have listed it for.Though i will not be able to make cash payment due to my tight schedule. But am ready to make paypal as my method of paying, Send your PayPal email address to me so I can pay you and proceed with the transaction,I am using only PayPal. This is because PayPal is the most secured and safest way to transact online. I will arrange with someone to have this picked up from your location once i have paid.In the meantime, can you send me more pictures (if available)? I hope to read from you soon.
    Thanks.

Is yours by any chance the same?

BTW - how much for your mazda?

Why would anybody buy a car from Ireland if they are much cheaper to buy in UK?
People are importing cars from UK to Ireland , not the other way.

Older petrol engine cars with larger engines might be actually cheaper in Ireland than UK at the moment.
Also possibility to recover part of VRT by seller, might make the price for UK buyer even more attractive.

Not true. I sold my car to a buyer from UK (he paid in cash though).

    It depends on the car.

Possibly they will send you fake email from PayPal with confirmation that money was lodged into your paypal account and come to pick up the car.
    That's what I'd imagine.

    Found on eBay:

"When selling your automobile, be aware of this scam. I was a victim of this scam, and neither ebay or paypal would resolve it!
    1) I sold my car via Ebay auto auctions, via an initially fair sale.
    2) After selling the car, the buyer arranged to have a "driver" meet me to pick up the car.
    3) He said, "Sign the title, and leave it under the front seat." He paid via paypal, and I saw that the funds were in my account. I even transferred the funds into my bank account.
    4) Since I had the funds, I went ahead with the sale as per his instructions.
    5) We gave each other good feedback, the deal was done (or so it seemed!)
    6) He contacted paypal and said that there was fradulent activity on his account. Paypal reversed the charges to my account. FairTrade and Paypal couldn't reach him, and he no longer uses the account. Beware of this scam!"

I wonder how could Paypal revers the charges from his paypal account, if money was already transferred to his bank account?

It gets pulled from the bank account as a direct debit. This happened me once when a buyer claimed to have received only half the quantity ordered. Paypal were emailing me about it but I didn't see the emails until weeks later.
When I got in contact they reversed the reversal!
