gave it a one, just a truly terrible "race"

It wasn't a race. Drivers actually been told not to race. Hamiltion being told to be easier on the tyres and coming back with "I can't drive any slower." This whole Pirelli thing has to stop, now. The tyres are completely dominating Formula 1. I'll be in Monaco in 2 weeks time and If I see that smug git Paul Hembry I'll punch him in the face. The Schumacher years didn't even put me off as much as this crap has.

Vettel not winning instantly means the race is at least a 3, Alonso winning, means its at least a 4, Kimi on the podium is at least a 4.5, Vettel not on the podium makes it at least a 5. I voted 5 :)

I gave it a four, and that was mostly because the opening lap was quite interesting. I also have a soft spot for Massa so that was nice to see.

But tyres, tyres, tyres. The two Mercs suffered a lot, and the comments from Lewis might be the start of something.

I gave it a four mainly for Alonso's great start, overall it was a crap race even by Barcelona standards. Too much babysitting of tyres and too many pit stops, medium and hard tyres equally sh1t today. Funnily enough the 4 stop strategy reminded me of Schumacher's awesome win in Magny Cours many years ago when he switched to 4 stops and drove like a man possessed.

Bring back the Bridgestone/Michelin tyre war years I say. :p

They may as well reduce race distance to 5 laps. Crap.

Whoever the 4 people are that voted for a 8 really need to have there head examined. If you think that's two points below a perfect race then I don't know.

You're being very harsh there Lightning. If they think it's worth an eight, well let it be.

This is the first race of the year I've missed and judging by the comments I didn't miss much. Roll on Monaco.

    Id give it a 5.
Pirelli can change it and something will change after this race Id say.

I love the whole idea of the tyre performance just dropping off a cliff. Still, you need a tyre that can be raced hard for say 10 to 15 laps then giving up. These tyres cannot be raced at all.

Any change made by Pirelli surely just benefits Red Bull? They seem the team most hurt by the tyres, & the team with the most to benefit from change. I'd really rather not go back to knowing who wins each race on a Saturday

I gave it a high enough rating on the basis that it was good to see how the teams are coping with the ridiculous tyres. Better wearing compounds would presumbaly see Mercedes dominate.

It is crazy though that what is cleary the fastest car finishes sixth and undrivable because it uses the rubber better than the rest. A repeat race like that and it would get 3-4/10.

There also seems to be a critical point where the tyre is too slow for some cars, but obviously that benefitted Ferrari and Lotus which keeps the championship lottery alive.

I don't think the Mercedes is the fastest car. If all the cars were set up for single lap pace and nothing else it would probably go Red Bull
Ferrari---Lotus/Mercedes. The difference is that the other teams can set the car up for decent one-lap pace with good race pace while Mercedes have no idea how to. Hell look at the last two races, in Bahrain it was Rosberg struggling more, in Spain it was Hamilton, they're really letting themselves down.

Tyres were always the case in F1 (back in days it was also other parts like gearboxes, engines, turbos, brakes etc. to look after) , multiple pitstops are welcome, just need some tweak in compound so it lasts rubbing of 750 horsepowers against the roughest asphalt out there.
