My gf and I are just looking for ideas for a sun holiday for July.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    We'd like something:
    - Not too hot - kind of 25(ish) degrees max
    - Not 'saturated' with kids

    Thanks in advance :)

Mauritius or The Seychelles? Both relatively child free and rarely too hot.

Bit out of our price range (i should have said we were thinking along the lines Spain/Portugal for cheap-ish flights), but thanks :)

Most coastal parts of Spain/Portugal will be saturated with kids in July. How about a cheap Ryanair flight to Zadar and head down to the Croatian coast and islands. Nicest part of Europe IMHO and not really aimed towards kids like Spanish Resorts.

Croatia is mega hot during the summer months, temps can get to 43 and higher by mid day, I know coz I drive there every year to a camp site in Stobrec (google camping stobrec), it's near Split Croatia, lovely spot, right on the beach and they rent out air conditioned mobile homes or you can bring your own camper or caravan, they have a restaurant, bar, pizza, laundry, supermarket, etc etc fab place but its summer time and every whear is over run with kids during the school breaks. But Croatia is fab but mega hot!! If you go there, shopping in Split in the old town is great and some great bargins to be got, ask at reception or pick up their brocures on the area at reception. The air port is a short taxi drive to the camp site. They take Euro currency as well as their own currency.

what about flying to lisbon and picking somewhere along the silver coast. the temp in july is 30degrees +, but you get a lovely breeze coming in from the atlantic so makes the temp seem a bit less

Tavira in the Algarve is a pleasant place and only a taxi ride from Faro. Google street view is a handy way of looking at it. Crete is a favourite place of mine but not around the Heraklion area at that time of year. Georgioupoli might suit and is a handy bus ride to either Chania or Rethimno which are both very interesting cities with a lot of history, could be a bit warm in July.
