At the moment i have a paid subscribtion to Sky in my front room.
What i want is a tv in the kitchen.

Can i buy a free to air satellite box and add a cable to the satellite dish and connect them and get the free to air channels on my spare tv in the kitchen. I think the lnb has to slots one of which is free.

I just dont to pay for muilti viewing because dont need it. Just want to get all the bascic channels ie bbc itv etc .

You can indeed once your LNB has one or more free ports.

Remember you will also need to run a second cable from an aerial if you want to see RTE, TV3 etc as those channels will not be available fta from your existing dish.

If its just the standard lnb with 2 ports and only one is used for Sky you wont have any problems. But just remember that should you change to Sky+ you will need two ports for that so maybe consider fitting a quad LNB now to future proof your viewing.

The 'standard' multiple output lnb for Sky installations is a quad. They don't fit twin output lnbs.

OP says there are 2 free outputs.
