    Hi

My wife is taking paternity leave for 3 months. Just wondering if I can take her tax credits while she is off.

    Thanks

I presume you mean unpaid maternity leave. Is she returning to work after 3 months, I would leave things as they are she will build up the refunds due and maternity benefit is taxable from 01.07.13 anyway.

There is no such thing as paternity leave .

Maternity leave is paid for 26 weeks , and mother can take an extra 16 weeks unpaid maternity leave .

A parent can take parental leave for 18 weeks
