Car Alarm going off when driving??

Recently the car alarm has started going off when i am driving. It doesn't happen every time, it happens maybe once or twice a week. There seems to be no real pattern to it. I could be on the open road going about 80K or so and it just goes off and there indicators flash. Sounds for a couple of minutes and then off for a couple and on again etc. Its very annoying and embarrassing.

The car is a 2008 Opel Astra H.

Does anyone know what could be the problem. Even turning off the engine doesn't stop it. I just have to get out and open the door again and put the key back in and keep messing about like that to get it to stop.

Theres many problems with the alarms in the Astra H. It was the first car i thought of when I read the first few lines.
My astra had alarm problems, the alarm would go off after a few minds if you ever used the deadlocks, so i never did!
Google it and im sure something will come up its so common. The soundblaster goes faulty very often.

My big fear is that i go to garages and they recommend a fix and it doesn't work and i end up spending a fortune trying to get to the bottom of it. Money is really tight at the min. I wonder is there any way of sorting it without spending a lot of money. Can the alarm just be disabled.
