Cannot download without being hijacked

    Hi all,

    This morning I tried to download a newer version of stinger but again I've been diverted to "http://www.westbyte.com/ida/" trying to get me to download an internet accelerator. I did look at this site some time ago but decided I didn't want to download their product.

    I'm diverted to this site every time I try to download anything from the web, this only happens on Google (not on IE).

    I've run microsoft security essentials, stinger (older version) and malwarebytes to no avail.

    Where do I go from here.

    can you download OTL.exe onto a usb key and run it on the PC ?

    Hi ASJ112,

    Thanks for your help. I downloaded OTL and it gave me a list of stuff that was changed in the last 30 days. When I ran the cleaner it asked to select file but I couldn't find it on the list. I had saved it to documents and also to desk top.

    Anyway to cut a long story short I uninstalled Google and re-installed it again and everything is back to normal.

    I'll just be careful of wisebyte in the future. It's a very aggressive site.
